Fort Worth homeboy Rockin' Ray Duke has been a working pro musician since 1975, working with many Top 40 road groups of the '70's including a stint with The Platters, finally joining the Dallas based Vegas show band Caper in late 1979. While with Caper he had the great opportunity to play the casino circuit in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Reno and Laughlin, Nevada and also Atlantic City, NJ. Caper shared the stage with acts including Miami Sound Machine, Redd Foxx, Bob Hope, Brenda Lee, Huey Lewis, Chicago and many others that Ray will be more than happy to tell you about after a few beers. Rockin' Ray has been a "road warrior" in all senses of the term, playing in almost every state in the US plus extensive tours of Finland, Sweden, Canada and even Latvia.

Leaving the road and coming home to the DFW area in 2004 Ray played for a short while with the Fort Worth classic rock band Little Wing before hooking up with The Sunkats. Ray plays Fender and Lakland basses, and uses Ernie Ball Music Man bass cabinets, for strings Ray uses Rotosound Swing Bass 66 roundwounds and Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats. He'll drink most any beer as long as it's cold or free (or both) and loves some Crown Royal and a good cigar now and then. Oh, and he's single and available, ladies.   ray@thesunkats.com
